Ilan Shahor M. D., B.A.c.C., R.C.H.M, C.M.I.R. (Hinckley & Leicester Practice)

Ilan Shahor qualified as a medical Doctor from The Sackler School of Medicine at Tel Aviv University. He hen worked as a hospital Doctor in a General Medical Ward for two years but after becoming disillusioned with aspects of Conventional Medicine he decided to change direction and learn Traditional Chinese Medicine. He then qualified as a TCM Practitioner completing a three year TCM Course held by the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine which is recognized as one of the two most important centres for Chinese Medicine in the world.

Ilan started to practice full time in 1995. He now works from his two busy clinics and has accumulated invaluable experience in treating people with TCM. During his 18 years in practice Ilan has also regularly continued his updating and accumulation of knowledge through attending specialised seminars, courses and conventions both in the U.K. and in China.

Ilan is a member of the British Acupuncture Council and the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine and of the Chinese Medicine Institute and Register. Ilan has also completed the Woman’s Natural Health Practice course in Gynaecology, Obstetrics and Fertility, run by the world renowned TCM Gynaecologist Dr Trevor Wing, and is now an Associate Member of the Clinic.


Julie Devlin (Leicester Practice)

Julie’s interest in acupuncture began many years ago as a result of successful treatment for a long-standing back problem. She went on to study Traditional Chinese Medicine at the Northern College of Acupuncture in York, where she also returned to teach some years later.

She became a member of the British Acupuncture Council in 1996 and now runs busy clinics at both the Eastgate Complimentary Health Centre and The Orchard Medical Practice in Broughton Astley. As well as a wide-ranging experience in all aspects of acupuncture, Julie has a special interest in pre and post conception care and the use of acupuncture to support assisted conception protocols.

She is a member of the Acupuncture Fertility Network and the Zita West Network of Affiliated practitioners. Julie has also trained in specialised Cosmetic Acupuncture techniques with both Virginia Doran of New York and Jong Baik.


Sue Harrington BSc, MSc, PhD, Lic.Ac, MBAcC  (Leicester Practice)

Sue graduated from The Acupuncture Academy in Leamington Spa having become interested in acupuncture after experiencing the physical and emotional benefits of her own treatment. She is a member of the British Acupuncture Council and sits on the British Acupuncture Accreditation Board, which is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the educational standards and quality of accredited acupuncture courses.  Sue is also a supervisor for acupuncture students completing their third-year research projects at The Acupuncture Academy.


Sue specialises in Five Element Acupuncture and has private practices at the Eastgate Complementary Health Centre and in Ragdale. She also works in a community multibed practice in Rugby and provides acupuncture on the chemotherapy ward at The Spire in Leicester.
