(Hinckley & Leicester Practice)

Dr Ilan Shahor qualified as a medical Doctor from The Sackler School of Medicine at Tel Aviv University. He then worked as a hospital Doctor in a General Medical Ward for two years but after becoming disillusioned with aspects of Conventional Medicine he decided to change direction and learn Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). He then qualified as a TCM Practitioner completing a three year TCM Course held by the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine which is recognized as one of the two most important centres for Chinese Medicine in the world.

Ilan started to practice full time in 1995. He now works from his two busy clinics and has accumulated invaluable experience in treating people with TCM. During his 24 years in practice Ilan has also regularly continued his updating and accumulation of knowledge through attending specialised seminars, courses and conventions both in the U.K. and in China.

Ilan is a member of the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine and of the Chinese Medicine Institute and Register and the acupuncture society. Ilan has also completed the Woman’s Natural Health Practice course in Gynaecology, Obstetrics and Fertility, run by the world renowned TCM Gynaecologist Dr Trevor Wing, and is now an Associate Member of the Clinic.

Kerry is a fully-qualified traditional and cosmetic rejuvenation acupuncturist. She studied at the University of Lincoln where she gained a first class degree in Acupuncture, as well wining the prize for health and social care for the class of 2013 due to her dedication and passion for acupuncture, helping people achieve results they never thought they could with natural medicine. Her qualifications ensure she is not only a very highly trained acupuncturist, but also has a great understanding of Western Medicine. Kerry is a member of the British Acupuncture Council which ensures the strictest standards of hygiene and professional conduct are upheld.

With her treatments, Kerry seeks to find the root cause of the problem as well as treating the symptoms; she believes that with this approach results should be longer-lasting as the body is able to repair and re-balance on a deeper level. Every treatment is tailored to meet the needs of each individual and Kerry may also make recommendations that may be beneficial to complement acupuncture treatment; these may include yoga, qi gong or tai chi, meditation or simple dietary recommendations.

Kerry’s postgraduate qualification in Facial Enhance Acupuncture is a very popular, non-surgical, natural treatment which many people turn to as a viable alternative to invasive injections or other chemical treatments. OUR CUSTOMERS SAY

Ilan is an excellent practitioner of Chinese Medicine. He has been treating me with acupuncture for over one year now and my health, which was in extremely poor condition, has improved significantly with each treatment. I feel so much better now, I wish I had started treatment much sooner, I can highly recommend him.

I began seeing Ilan for acupuncture 3 years ago when I had trigger thumb in both hands. The NHS had been unable to offer any treatment and the condition had worsened until I was unable to write, cut or perform any fine motor skills with either hand. I was even contemplating giving up my job as a teacher. The acupuncture treatment was totally effective and I now have no pain in either thumb along with a full range of movement in both hands. Ilan is an excellent practitioner who I would highly recommend.

Ilan’s treatment has been literally life changing for me. Extreme lower back pain had reduced my walking to only 100 or 200 yards at a time without having to stop and rest. Numerous doctors and specialists had been unable to offer any relief. After 6-8 weeks of acupunture my mobility was vastly improved. I can now walk for miles with no back pain at all.
